The Gender & Cultural Studies programs at Lindsey Wilson University give students an opportunity to major or minor in an interdisciplinary program and, thereby, pursue a learning experience that emphasizes integrative learning, critical thinking, and innovative problem solving. In so doing, students will be prepared to enter into a number of professions, including new and emerging fields. Furthermore, given the emphasis in the Gender & Cultural Studies curriculum on intercultural knowledge and civil engagement, the program will prepare students for success in an increasingly diverse global environment and to work toward justice their communities. In addition, Gender & Cultural Studies is a discipline that emphasizes personal experience as both an important subject and method of critical inquiry and, thus, provides students with the critical apparatus to analyze personal challenges as well as ways to empower themselves.
