Mission Statement
The mission of the arts administration program at Lindsey Wilson University is to cultivate the next generation of leaders in the arts and cultural sector, equipping students with the knowledge, skills, and ethical foundations essential for success in arts management. Through an interdisciplinary approach which utilizes our successful School of Arts & Humanities as well as our rapidly growing School of Business & Communication, the program fosters critical thinking, creativity, and effective communication. The program faculty are dedicated to instilling a profound commitment to the cultural and societal significance of the arts, empowering students to navigate the complexities of arts administration with confidence.
Graduation Requirements
Some courses taken for the major will simultaneously fulfill general education requirements. Please see the Graduation Requirements (bachelor’s degrees) section of this catalog for information on the general education program.
Students should note that the major provides fewer than the required 39 hours of 3000-4000 level coursework; therefore, students will need to complete additional 3000-4000 level coursework to meet this requirement.
Program Requirements: 45 hours
Along with the general education program, students must complete the major’s core requirements and select an emphasis area, and must complete the courses for that emphasis.

Arts Administration majors have several opportunities regarding the selection of a minor or for direction in a set of carefully selected elective hours. For example, the program outline itself suggests possibilities such as the minor in business administration, communication, or study in a second arts emphasis area.
