Four Are Honored by LWU Alumni Association
The Lindsey Wilson University National Alumni Association honored three alumni and one longtime friend on Saturday morning, Sept. 30, during the college’s 92nd Homecoming celebration. From left: Charity Ferguson ’01 from Greensburg, Kentucky, who received the Distinguished Service award; Bill Straus ’69 from Lexington, Kentucky, who received the Distinguished Alumnus award; Dr. Jerry Westerfield from Russell Springs, Kentucky, who received the Honorary Alumnus award; Hannah Hayduk ’15 Morales from Laredo, Texas received the Outstanding Young Alumna award; and LWU President William T. Luckey Jr. The event was sponsored by TJ Health.
Homecoming King and Queen are Crowned
On Saturday evening, the LWU student body crowned the homecoming queen and king during halftime of the LWU football game at Parnell Family Stadium. Crowned king was sophomore Isaac Duop from South Sudan, left, representing men’s basketball. And crowned queen was senior Diamond Bryant from Clarksville, Tennessee, representing women’s basketball.
Great Turnout for Button Golf Scramble
More than 50 friends and colleagues of the late Brady Button participated in the 2nd Annual Brady C. Button Memorial Golf Scramble on Saturday morning at The Pines at Lindsey Wilson. Proceeds benefited the men’s basketball program and the Brady C. Button Endowed Scholarship. Allan Parnell is Honored at Sculpture Unveiling
Members of the Parnell family stand next to the sculpture of Dr. Allan Parnell with LWU President William T. Luckey Jr., and Elise Luckey. The statue was unveiled on Saturday in a surprise ceremony honoring Parnell for his service to LWU as the longest-serving board chair in the history of the college.

Bunny and Allan Parnell stand with sculpture artist and creator Russ Faxon, middle, from Bell Buckle, Tennessee. Parnell’s statue was commissioned more than a year ago and cast in molten bronze. It stands at the entrance of the Parnell Family Stadium and is more than seven feet tall.
Scott Dillery Remembered at Naming Ceremony
Prior to the start of Friday afternoon's session of the 11th Annual Dr. Scott Dillery Fall Frenzy, Lindsey Wilson Athletic Director Willis Pooler and Head Swim Coach Alicia Kemnitz presented the family of the late Dr. Scott Dillery with a plaque in recognition of Dillery's commitment and passion for the Blue Raider swimming program. Dillery, a former associate professor of mathematics at LWU, passed away from cancer in February.
