Senior Adam Hoehler, left, from Somerset, Ky., and junior Dominick Ferrara, right, from Nashville, Tenn., present the colors at the 17th-annual Veterans Appreciation Luncheon held on Friday, Nov. 8. The students are cadets in the Army ROTC program at Lindsey Wilson College. When Hoehler graduates in the spring, he will be the first cadet to commission from the college.
Marine Corp veteran Wilbur Blair from Columbia, Ky; Army veteran Richard Henningsen from Chicago, Ill.; and Donald Allen from Columbia, Ky., chat at Friday's 17th-annual Veterans Appreciation Luncheon at Roberta D. Cranmer Dining & Conference Center. The three retired servicemen served during the mid-to-late 1960s.
Guest speaker for LWC's 17th-annual Veterans Appreciation Luncheon was Kentucky VFW State Commander Bruce Unland who served the U.S. Army from 1965-1971. Unland completed two tours of duty in Vietnam and is the recipient of three purple hearts and a bronze star with oak leaf cluster. He was honorably discharged from service in 1971 with rank of E-6 Staff Sergeant.
