Dear Graduate Student, We hope and pray that you and your family have escaped the coronavirus. You have certainly been in our thoughts and prayers. We are pleased to inform you that you will receive an emergency cash grant of $[insert amount]. Please continue reading for more information. To address the pressing financial need of students due to the disruption of campus operations from COVID-19, the federal government approved the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act. The Act provides federal aid to institutions of higher education to help students cover specific expenses (i.e., food, housing, course materials, technology, health care, childcare) due to the disruption. The funds will be disbursed to you in the form of an emergency cash grant to help offset the expenses referenced above. The College expects to release these funds to you on June 4. You are encouraged to sign up for direct deposit on the myLWC Opt-in page by June 1 to receive your emergency cash grant by June 5. If the College does not have any direct deposit information by June 1, a check will be sent to your mailing address. You may update your mailing address here.
