USDA To Make Announcement at LWC
USDA to Announce the Expansion of Broadband Internet Infrastructure for Rural Kentucky on Wednesday at Lindsey Wilson College
COLUMBIA, KY. -- Thousands of Southcentral Kentucky residents can look forward to faster internet service thanks to a new initiative to be announced on Wednesday at Lindsey Wilson College.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Deputy Under Secretary for Rural Development Donald “DJ” LaVoy will make the announcement on Wednesday, Jan. 29 at 11 a.m. CT, in the Jim and Helen Lee Fugitte Science Center, room 129, 411 Helen Flatt Drive, Columbia, Ky.
LaVoy is expected to discuss the multi-million dollar investment and expansion of high-speed broadband infrastructure that will improve e-Connectivity for thousands of homes in rural Kentucky. Kentucky is one of several states to receive the funding.
The event is free and open to the public and the media is invited to attend.
