Library Instruction
LWC faculty and staff,
The librarians are available to come teach
bibliographic instruction (BI) sessions! BIs are special topic, short-courses on anything related to the library and research assistance. Our goal is to provide students with the toolbox they will need to be successful in their academic and professional careers, as well as their personal lives.
Research and
Writing are among the most important skills a person can learn while in school, and academic institutions provide a safe place to practice and hone these skills. BI sessions range from 15 minutes to whole class periods.
Example BI sessions:
- General library overview
- Avoiding plagiarism and How to cite sources
- How to find and select a research topic
- Evaluating online resources
- Using advanced searching techniques
- Finding peer-reviewed/scholarly publications
