The Early Assurance Program (EAP) partnership between Lindsey Wilson College and the UK College of Medicine-Bowling Green (UKCOM-BG) will focus on the physician workforce needs in South Central/Western regions of Kentucky. To attract top students for the UKCOM-BG class each year, LWC and UKCOM-BG have a partnership which will reserve two spots for qualifying LWC students annually.

Program Requirements:

LWC students must meet the following criteria to be eligible to apply to the LWC’s Early Assurance Program:
  • Current Sophomore standing and anticipated college graduation within 3-4 additional full-time semesters.
  • Five full-semester science courses, including but not limited to the disciplines of biology, chemistry, physics and/or mathematics and not including associated laboratory courses.
  • Two semesters of humanities coursework, emphasizing written or spoken communication skills.
  • Cumulative college GPA of at least 3.6 (program does not round up).
  • College science (biology, chemistry, physics, and mathematics) GPA of at least 3.6.
  • Commitment to participate in all Early Assurance Program Activities.
Early Assurance Program Highlights:
  • Academic advising with LWC faculty
  • Targeted research/seminar/course experiences
  • Shadowing and mentoring experiences with physicians
  • MCAT Preparation
  • One-week summer boot camp in Bowling Green, Kentucky during the second summer to assist students in preparation for the application to medical school

Program Requirements for Assured Admission to UKCOM–BG Campus:

  • Full participation in all Early Assurance Program activities.
  • Completion of all UK College of Medicine prerequisite coursework.
  • Cumulative total GPA of 3.5 or higher.
  • Science (BCPM) GPA of at 3.5 or higher.
  • Successful completion of the MCAT with a total score of at least 504 and subscores of at least 124.
  • Anticipated graduation by the end of the summer session prior to matriculation to the UK College of Medicine.
  • Submit an AMCAS application to UKCOM-BG within 7 days of the application opening, applying “Early Assurance” to the Bowling Green program.

IMPORTANT – If you are interested in applying to the EAP program at LWC, you must notify Dr. Melissa Clauson, EAP Coordinator at LWC, of your intent to apply by email clausonm@lindsey.edu. Please include your LWC ID number in the email. You should not submit an application until you have received an email response confirming that you meet the minimum requirements for the EAP program.
