Homecoming 2021 Alumni Award Recipient

Kasey Compton

Kasey Compton ’09 - Outstanding Young Alumna

Entrepreneur and author Kasey Compton believes everyone has the capacity to build the life they want. She has made it her life’s mission to help others actively design their own success and more importantly, develop the confidence to make it a reality.

Compton’s enthusiasm for business development began to take root when her first company, Mindset Behavioral Health Specialty Group, grew from zero to three million in revenue in less than three years. In just over six years, the group has expanded to include nine locations, serving 17 Kentucky counties and more than 10,000 clients across the state.

Over time, Compton’s innovative approach to business design continued to prove its effectiveness. Hoping she could help others, she decided to take what she learned and started Kasey Compton Consulting, a company that specializes in teaching new business owners how to systemize their operations. In addition to her work in consulting, she has diversified her business portfolio to include ownership of a real estate agency, as well as a hair salon.

Compton’s desire to reach more small business owners has led to several speaking engagements. She has been featured in You Got This magazine and is a regular podcast guest speaker, appearing on programs geared towards entrepreneurship and small business ownership.

Compton fulfilled a dream when she partnered with bestselling author Mike Michalowicz to write Fix This Next, a book that teaches healthcare providers how to operate a successful healthcare practice. The book was released in July 2021 and was named Best New Release for Business Infrastructure and Quality Assurance by Amazon.

Compton holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Midway (Kentucky) University and a master’s degree in counseling and human development from Lindsey Wilson College. She lives in Somerset, Kentucky, and has three children: Maime, Lennon and Thayer; and one fur-daughter, Deca. In her spare time, she enjoys relaxing on Lake Cumberland and visiting her favorite vacation spot, Fripp Island, in South Carolina.
